This year we picked the best flights from 3 major events; the Pacific Coast Freestyle Championship from Molalla, Oregon, the Don Lowe Masters from Greenville, South Carolina and the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout. For those of you not familiar with freestyle aerobatics, a bit of explanation...the Free Program or Freestyle, as it’s better known, is a no-holds barred routine where anything goes as long as safety rules are not compromised in the process. The contestants may use music or special effects to enhance their performance. This style of flying tends to be enjoyable for the pilots because it gives them a chance to show their stuff and the spectators because of its high entertainment value. You’ll see many brand new faces as well as some of the top names in R/C Aerobatics pull out all the stops to impress you with their aerial ballet.
