1999 - Ballet of the Sky

You asked us to do it again and here it is! This year we picked complete flights or excerpts from 29 freestyle routines from 4 different contests in the US; the Tournament of Champions from Las Vegas, Nevada, the Masters World Aerobatic Championship from Greenville, South Carolina, the IMAC Nats and the F3A (Pattern) World Championship from Pensacola, Florida. For those of you not familiar with freestyle aerobatics, a bit of explanation...the Free Program or Freestyle, as it’s better known, is a no-holds barred routine where anything goes as long as safety rules are not compromised in the process. The contestants may use music or special effects to enhance their performance. This style of flying tends to be enjoyable for the pilots because it gives them a chance to show their stuff and the spectators because of its high entertainment value. You’ll see some of the top names in R/C Aerobatics pull out all the stops to impress you with their aerial ballet.
