18TH TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS 2002


Our 7th TOC program...and what a contest it was! Chip Hyde roared into the first place slot with virtually flawless flying. This year we shot 28 hours of raw footage using 2 primary camera operators and a supporting cameraperson. We picked the best flights for you and assembled them into a 3 hour and 40 minute 2 volume Mega-Program. This year there were 21 contestants battling it out for their share of the $183,500 Purse. There were 2 cuts, the first narrowing the field to 14 competitors and the second resulting in 7 finalists. In Volume 1 we feature those pilots who finished in 8th through 21st place. Volume 2 covers the Finals with more emphasis on the fierce competition, particularly between LeRoux and Hyde. We interview every contestant and show you selections from the Knowns and Unknowns, as well as lots of freestyle. For your viewing pleasure we've included highlights of the noontime entertainment, the awards presentations and interviews with the winners. If you're one of those hard-core enthusiasts who wants to study every aspect of the contest in detail we've included copies of the official maneuver sheets so you can follow along as well as the score summaries. TOC 2002 represents 110 man-hours of camera work and 250 hours in the editing suite. If you were there, you'll get to relive all the excitement; if you were unable to attend, our in-depth coverage will make you feel like you were there. And, we're proud to announce that Propwash Video is the first Production Company ever, in model aviation, to offer a program on fully authored and commercially replicated DVDs for better compatibility and chapter screens!
